What is Sayama tea?

狭山茶は、静岡茶・宇治茶に並ぶ日本茶の三大銘茶のひとつで、重厚な香りとコクが特徴です。埼玉県西部および東京都西多摩地域を中心に栽培・生産されており、希少性が高いお茶です。

Sayama tea is one of the three major Japanese teas alongside Shizuoka tea and Uji tea, and is characterized by its profound aroma and richness.
It is a highly rare tea that is cultivated and produced mainly in the western part of Saitama Prefecture and the Nishitama area of Tokyo.

「味の狭山」と称されるほど、コクのある甘みが特徴です。さらに伝統の「狭山火入れ」という高温焙煎で仕上げることで濃厚な香りと深い甘みが生まれ、狭山茶特有の味わいとなります。

The rich sweetness is the feature so that it’s called “Sayama of the taste”.
The thick fragrance and the deep sweetness are born by completing it by traditional hot roast as “Sayama Burning”, and it’ll be the taste peculiar to Sayama tea.

市場での狭山茶の生産量は僅か2％ほどで、狭山茶の希少価値の高さが分かります。
また産地としては北限に位置しており、他の産地が年3〜5回収穫するのに対し、狭山茶は1〜2回しか収穫しません（近年は3回収穫する茶園もあります）。

The production of Sayama tea in the market is only about 2%, which shows the high scarcity value of Sayama tea.
In addition, Sayama tea is located in the northern limit as a production area, and while other production areas harvest 3 to 5 times in a year, Sayama tea harvests only 1 to 2 times (in recent years, some tea gardens harvest 3 times).

海外でも多くの評価をいただいております。当社は「2018年フランス・パリの⽇本茶コンクールCʼest bon leJapon銀賞」、「2019年フランス・パリの⽇本茶コンクールJapanese TEA selection PARIS銅賞」を受賞しております。

It has received high popularity even in overseas.
We received the “C’est bon le Japon Silver Award” in 2018 and the “Japanese TEA selection PARIS Bronze Award” in 2019 at the Japanese Tea Competition in Paris, France.

狭山茶の主な生産地のひとつ、入間市金子地区で狭山茶の生産者では最大規模となる79ヘクタール（2023年8月時点）もの農地を管理し、狭山茶の生産・加工・販売を行っています。ASIAGAP、FDAを取得し、安心・安全な商品をお届けしています。

In Kaneko district of Iruma City, one of the main production areas of Sayama tea, we hold 79 hectares (as of August 2023), which is the largest producer of Sayama tea, and produce, process and sell Sayama tea.We have acquired ASIAGAP and FDA to deliver safe and secure products.
